Decorative Tiles

This is a very easy project and can be made with things lying around the house. I used small floor tiles (any size will work). I purchased a wall paper border that went with my decor. The paper I used, matched the Chef theme in my kitchen. I started by cutting out some of the Chefs. I then wet the backs as you do with wallpaper, and adhered them to the tiles. I then finished them my adding a clear coat of gloss craft paint. This can be done with any paper items you choose, by simply gluing them to the tiles. I hung them on plate racks and they are great decorative addition to my kitchen. This can also be done on plates, for decorative use only.

This project is so easy and very inexpensive. This can be made with things lying around the house. They make great gifts because you can personalize them.

I have made a few of these, a golf theme, dog theme and angel theme. I started off by purchasing frames from my local $1 store. I then went to my local craft store and found some great plastic novelty buttons. There are so many different themes to chose from. With a pair of wire cutters (heavy scissors would work) I cut off the back tab of the button, so it would lie flat. I then placed all of the different buttons I wanted to use in various places on the frame. Make sure you are happy with the placement of the buttons before you glue them down. Once you are done, you have a one of a kind, personalized frame that was very low cost.
